Frequently Asked Questions

Q1. What's the difference between Neoloop /Lynham Networks and nbn®?
The main difference is the network technology. Neoloop / Lynham Networks is an independent Australian fibre network that primarily uses FTTP (Fibre to the Premises), delivering fibre directly to your home for fast, reliable internet.
While nbn® also offers FTTP in some areas, many nbn® connections use a mix of technologies, including copper or HFC, depending on your address. Performance may therefore vary by location.
Neoloop / Lynham Networks is available in selected apartments, residential estates and new developments across metropolitan New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland.
Enter your address on our website to check availability. If Neoloop / Lynham Networks isn’t available at your address, we’ll recommend the best broadband service for your location.
The New Development Charge is a fee charged for all connections made in areas that the fibre infrastructure provider (e.g. Neoloop / Lynham) have identified as within the boundary of a new development. Essentially, it means if fibre internet has never been used at a property before, this one-time fee will be charged to the end user no matter which internet service provider is used. The implementation of this fee was a decision made by the Australian government to offset part of the fibre infrastructure’s cost onto “the parties that use or benefit from them”. Service providers (including Occom) charge this fee on behalf of the upstream fibre provider (e.g. Neoloop / Lynham) when the internet service is activated.

Activation depends on your property’s setup.

  • Already connected: If fibre or a CAT6 outlet is already installed, your service can usually be activated within 24 hours.
  • Installation required: If network equipment hasn’t been installed, we’ll arrange a technician appointment as soon as possible.
To use Lynham Networks’ fibre service, you’ll need a router that supports PPPoE. When your service is activated, we’ll provide your PPPoE username and password, which you’ll need to enter in your router’s WAN settings.
If you’re not sure whether your router is compatible, please contact our Customer Service team. Sign up on a 12-month contract and receive a FREE ASUS router, ensuring full compatibility and optimal performance.
